Industrial Electrician
Requirements:
- 442A/309A/Red Seal Electrician Certificate of Qualification required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a commercial or industrial electrician.
- Electronics manufacturing background preferred.
- Project managements skills: ability and desire to take the initiative and responsibility to meet project objectives and deadlines.
- Working knowledge of Lock-Out Tag-Out, Electrical Safety, Arc Flash protection requirements is required.
- Computer literacy & knowledge of MS Office tools required.
- Knowledge of PLCs, VFDs and servo drives an asset.
Work conditions:
8 hour shift / Monday to Friday / Overtime & Overtime Pay
Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical installations and modifications including conduit and cable install, electrical equipment mounting, industrial automation system installation and lighting system repair/installation.
- Must be able to work with higher voltage 3-phase electrical systems, generators, manufacturing equipment, and HVAC units.
- Perform general industrial electrical maintenance, install, repair, diagnose and maintain Production equipment including preventative and unplanned maintenance.
- Plan, Diagram, Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, maintenance manuals.
- Promote compliance with Health & Safety standards, and Manufacturing Best Practices at all times.
- Work closely with production team members to resolve equipment issues and improve efficiency.
- Follow good housekeeping procedures and maintain a tidy, clean and safe work area on the floor and in the maintenance shop.
- Ensure that all required documentation is completed correctly and on time including timesheets, maintenance logs, equipment monitoring and operational forms, work orders and inventory counts.
- Attend project and continuous improvement meetings, liaise with electrical parts supply vendors and complete requisitions for parts and supplies.
The following skills and experience will be considered an asset:
- Able to test, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust and repair analog components, digital and logic circuits, microprocessor-controlled devices, programmable logic and automation controllers, electronic process measurement systems and electronic controllers, HMIs, VFDs and servo drives.
- Able to troubleshoot and repair equipment failures to minimize downtime.
All applicants must have or be able to obtain a lift and fall protection certificate and be comfortable working at elevated heights up to 3 stories.
