Construction Project Manager

A leading heavy civil construction company is looking for a skilled Construction Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be adept in overseeing and managing multiple civil and commercial projects, ensuring they are executed efficiently from inception to completion. This role demands a proactive approach to project planning, scheduling, and execution, ensuring all projects adhere to contractual obligations, regulatory standards, and safety guidelines.


  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction management.
  • Degree or diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering, or a related educational background.
  • Membership in good standing with ASET, APEGA, or other relevant professional associations.
  • Proficiency in interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with proven time management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High level of proficiency in computer applications such as Outlook, Excel, Bluebeam, Heavy Job, and Heavy Bid.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must pass mandatory Drug and Medical Screening.

Work conditions:

Full-time position requiring in-person presence. Standard Monday to Friday schedule, with additional hours as project needs dictate.


  • Oversee the setup and coordination of multiple construction projects, involving liaison with building departments, government regulatory bodies, engineers, architects, and consultants.
  • Manage project planning, scheduling, costing, and execution to ensure compliance with all contracts, specifications, and drawings.
  • Administer and uphold quality management plans, addressing high-risk situations promptly and effectively.
  • Utilize Smart Sheet for creating, managing, and maintaining project schedules.
  • Conduct regular site meetings and manage communications with superintendents, subtrades, and clients/consultants.
  • Oversee submittals, Requests for Information (RFIs), and change orders, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Coordinate closely with the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) team to maintain safety standards across all sites.
  • Handle client billings, change order approvals, and manage project closeouts, ensuring all project documentation is complete.
  • Perform project reviews and presentations to internal stakeholders.
