A leading distributor of aerial work platforms and telehandlers in Canada, is seeking a dedicated Heavy Equipment Technician to join our dynamic team in Langley. This role is essential for maintaining the high-quality and reliability of our diverse equipment range, including telehandlers, man lifts, scissor lifts, and more. Ideal candidates will have experience with major brands in the industry and a strong background in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.

Requirements:

  • Preferably Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician’s technical training or a solid foundation in mechanical skills.
  • Experience with hydraulic cylinders, hydrodynamic components, and proven mechanical abilities in hydraulics and electrical systems.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment defects independently.
  • Proficient in electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • Familiarity with a variety of heavy-duty equipment maintenance operations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a diverse environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and in writing.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Computer literacy is essential.
  • Experience with AWP, telehandler, forklifts, cranes, compressors, and generators is highly regarded.
  • Preference for candidates with experience in boom lifts, scissor lifts, telehandlers, or cranes.
  • Driving Licence and Red Seal certification are preferred.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Work conditions:

PPE is required at all times. The role includes potential overtime and exposure to trade hazards. Work is conducted both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to construction sites. Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts with a 7 AM start time.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and perform mechanical repairs on various types of heavy-duty equipment, both in-shop and on the field.
  • Repair and adjust hydraulic pumps, safety switches, and other mechanical components.
  • Conduct electrical and hydraulic diagnostics and inspections.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform regular maintenance.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance reports and documentation.
  • Adhere to all safety policies, regulations, and compliance measures.
  • Continuously improve operations and decrease turnaround times.
  • Stay updated on technology and repair techniques in the industry.
