Job description
We are seeking a Maintenance and Repair Mechanic for a full-time first shift position, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:15 PM, with additional hours/days as needed based on business demands. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration troubleshooting skills, and be capable of performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and installations of equipment and machinery.
Requirements:
- Refrigeration experience or training, with industrial or commercial experience preferred
- Basic understanding of electrical troubleshooting with voltages up to 480V, 3-phase
- Basic plumbing knowledge or experience
- General mechanical experience, with industrial or commercial experience preferred
- Familiarity with Windows-based computer programs
- Willingness to attain EPA Freon certification
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge and ability to operate hand and power tools
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must have a current forklift license or be able to obtain one within 90 days of hire
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds

Responsibilities:
- Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment
- Repair equipment and refrigeration breakdowns in a timely and thorough manner
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as required
- Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts
- Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment (up to 480V, 3-phase)
- Repair and maintain the physical structure of the establishment
- Possess basic fabrication skills
- Be self-motivated and work well unsupervised
- Participate in the Process Safety Management program and follow all related procedures
- Other duties as assigned
