Job description

A large plant in San Francisco, CA, is seeking a strong Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift (Monday - Friday, 2 PM to 10:30 PM). The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, preferably from the food or beverage manufacturing industry. Responsibilities include completing preventative maintenance routines, repairing equipment, assisting with process automation, and participating in new equipment installations and process improvements.

Requirements:

  • Flexible schedule, with the ability to work overtime and weekend shifts as needed
  • Industrial electrical experience
  • Metal fabrication experience (Mig, Tig, Roller, Brake, Shear, Lathe, Mill)
  • Troubleshooting skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Manufacturing mechanical skills
  • General electrical wiring skills
  • Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
  • Valid California Driver’s License
  • Experience with PLC automation and instrumentation
  • Knowledge of local and national building codes
  • Rebuilding motors and pumps
  • Pneumatics and Hydraulics experience
  • Experience with power transmission
  • Knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code)
  • Welding experience
  • Air compressor maintenance
  • HVAC and refrigeration experience
  • Boiler maintenance
  • Knowledge of 5S practices (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain)

Responsibilities:

  • Complete preventative maintenance routines
  • Repair equipment in a timely and safe manner
  • Participate in projects related to the installation of new equipment and design
  • Assist with process automation and process improvements in packaging and facility processes
  • Assist in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and future maintenance programs
  • Manage parts procurement and inventory
  • Maintain a clean and organized maintenance area
  • Be flexible to work rotating shifts, including evenings and weekends based on business needs
  • Rebuild motors and pumps
  • Work with PLC automation and instrumentation
  • Perform pneumatics and hydraulics troubleshooting
  • Manage power transmission systems
  • Ensure compliance with NEC and local/national building codes
  • Handle welding and air compressor maintenance as needed
  • Conduct HVAC and refrigeration maintenance
  • Oversee boiler maintenance and ensure proper operation
  • Implement 5S practices to maintain an organized work environment
