Job description
Maintain inventory accuracy, responsible for day-to-day operations of material control functions and supervision of staff. Oversee and co-ordinate inbound, coo-ordinate and implement milk-runs, ensure internal customer satisfaction. Manage all material flow to and from the warehouse. Manage and maintain all motorized material handling equipment to ensure safety and reliability to support material flow and manufacturing. Benchmark and implement world-class material flow/warehouse concepts and strategies in keeping with lean manufacturing support. Develop daily automated-line scheduling to support customer requirements, including service components. Ensure supplier rating system is maintained, ongoing improvement of material flow and materials management within the manufacturing facility, logistics providers, supply chain. Research and implement continuous improvement inventory practices. Responsible for the control and inventory of returnable supplier containers. Responsible for the administration of the plant safety policies and the safety of plant personnel, maintains the attitude that all accidents are preventable, and attends all major investigations in his/her area. Use Lean concepts to schedule and manage inventory for components, packaging materials, WIP and finished good levels. Cross-functional communications with Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality, maintenance, human Resources and Accounting.
Requirements:
Basic knowledge and understanding of production. Familiarity with high volume manufacturing environment. Strong analytical skills, communication and problem solving skills. Demonstration of flexibility and adaptation to a fast paced changing environment. Ability to multi-task. Working knowledge of TS16949 and ISO 14001 standards as applicable to the position. Knowledge of logistics and transportation would be an asset. Must have strong decision-making and organizational skills, interpersonal skills. Must be proficient with computer applications such as MicroSoft Office Suite of applications and spreadsheets.

Supervises the daily work schedules of warehouse and material handling employees involved in performing a combination of: shipping, receiving, loading and unloading trucks, stacking, picking, packing and palletizing finished products and product delivery to and from manufacturing work centers. Determines space requirements for storage and schedules delivery and distribution of products, parts, and accessories to achieve distribution objectives and meet customer requirements. Prepares and analyzes inventory reports to identify slow-moving and/or surplus stock. Ensures maintenance of equipment and a safe, clean environment with the management team. Recommends and implements changes in procedures to improve the operating efficiency of the unit. Oversees the day-to-day operations of a group of employees. Responsible for training and development of workers. Develops a daily build schedule to ensure 100% daily customer support of OE and Service product. Coordinate the movement of supplier returnable containers to ensure adequate supply and timely delivery. Supervises the daily work schedules of material analysts involved in supplier delivery and continuous improvement initiatives. Actively participates in the waste management process.
