Mechanical Service Technician

Job description

As a vital part of the maintenance department and reporting directly to the plant manager, the Mechanical Service Technician plays a crucial role in programming, debugging, installing, and starting up production equipment. This includes electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control aspects, ensuring all equipment documentation is accurate and up-to-date.


  • College degree/diploma in Mechanical, Automation, Trade, or related field
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; woodworking facility experience preferred
  • Proficiency in schematics reading, PLC (Allen Bradley, Siemens), motor controls, and electronic systems
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with pneumatic control systems and PLC/CNC machinery
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and excellent communication skills in English
  • Previous experience with Homag, Biesse machinery is a plus
  • Independent, flexible, highly motivated, and detail-oriented
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and able to work effectively within a team environment

Work conditions:


  • Maintain, modify, and install production and related equipment
  • Troubleshoot equipment system faults and enforce safety measures
  • Develop and monitor maintenance team KPIs for continuous improvement
  • Initiate purchase orders for machinery, parts, and materials
  • Provide emergency repairs and scheduled maintenance
  • Perform preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and facilities
  • Maintain and repair electrical motors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and control networks
  • Experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC programming and troubleshooting
