A leader in the glass melting and finishing industry, is looking for a Sr. Process Engineer specializing in Glass Melting. This full-time position is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned professional passionate about advancing manufacturing methods, ensuring safety, and driving continuous improvement within the production processes. The ideal candidate will bring a robust background in engineering, a commitment to safety, and a keen eye for optimizing manufacturing operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering preferred; other related disciplines considered.
- 3-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong preference for experience in glass melting or processing.
- Proficiency in SQL, DMAIC, Tableau, Visual Basic, and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification is preferred.
- Familiarity with SAP, MS Office, and strong computer skills, particularly in data analysis and business management software.
- Must be a USA Citizen or a Green Card holder due to the sensitive nature of the products manufactured.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt to changes in the work environment.
Work conditions:
Standard Monday to Friday schedule, with flexibility required based on production needs.
Responsibilities:
- Implement safety, hazardous waste, and security procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
- Evaluate and improve manufacturing methods, applying statistical methods to anticipate manufacturing requirements and enhance production processes.
- Lead root cause analysis and manage deviations to improve production efficiency.
- Plan workforce utilization and workflow, adopting LEAN and 6S principles for maximum efficiency.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Engineering to implement yield measurement systems and develop corrective actions based on data analysis.
- Analyze production capacity, recommending manpower and machine adjustments to meet efficiency goals.
- Communicate effectively with work crews to ensure clear understanding of process information and instructions.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives and problem resolution to optimize resources and production timelines.
- Engage in continuous improvement activities using structured methods like PDCA and DMAIC.
- Provide support for machinery and equipment, ensuring seamless integration into production processes.
